Medicare reimbursement for physician offices and hospital outpatient facilities is based on the Average Sales Price (ASP).
ASP-based Payment Rate: ASP + 6%
Effective Medicare Payment Rate: Approximately ASP + 4.3% after sequestration adjustments.
Reimbursement is calculated per gram. Medicare reimburses using HCPCS codes, which are billed per 500 mg.
