Seasonal Influenza Vaccines

Influenza (flu) vaccines, the best protection against seasonal influenza, are approved for annual use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and those with chronic medical conditions.

Each year, the viruses in the vaccine are chosen for flu vaccine effectiveness (VE) based on international surveillance and scientists' estimations about which types and strains of viruses will circulate in a given year.
