Antithrombin
Antithrombin is an anticoagulant factor that regulates blood clot formation. Antithrombin therapy drug products are part of a group of similar, naturally occurring proteins and synthetic agents. Antithrombin is indicated for therapy in patients with hereditary antithrombin deficiency for the treatment and prevention of perioperative and peripartum thromboembolism. An antithrombin medication is provided as a sterile, non-pyrogenic concentrate of human antithrombin (AT) in lyophilized powder form for reconstitution for intravenous injection. Antithrombin III is an anticoagulant prepared from pooled units of human plasma from normal donors.
