The importance of influenza vaccination was underscored this past June when the Pentagon announced military recruits in boot camps for all military services will be required once again to receive flu shots. The decision followed a flu outbreak affecting nearly 300 people at Lackland Air Fore Base.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
On July 10, the CDC stated RSV activity is very low in most areas of the U.S. RSV-related emergency department visits and hospitalizations are low but remain highest for children younger than 4 years old.
Immunizations are recommended by the CDC for infants, some young children, and adults who are older or have certain risk factors that increase severe RSV illness potential. View FFF's RSV vaccine product page.

Pediatric Vaccines - For Youth Immunization
Communities across the U.S. are continuing to battle measles cases. As of July 9, the CDC received 2,234 confirmed measles cases this year, reported by 42 jurisdictions. By comparison, there were a total of 2,289 confirmed U.S. cases in 45 jurisdictions in all of 2025.
Ages 5 to 19 comprise 50 percent of the cases while 20 percent belong to children age 5 and younger. The CDC states that the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is "very safe and effective." They note that when 95 percent of a community is vaccinated, most people are protected through herd immunity. However, vaccination rates have dropped in recent years.
