Update: End date extended for Takeda's HEMOFIL^® M and RECOMBINATE^® discontinuation

Last year, we informed you about Takeda's global discontinuation of HEMOFIL^® M [Antihemophilic Factor (Human), Method M, Monoclonal Purified] and RECOMBINATE^® [Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant)]. Takeda's discontinuation was due to hemophilia patients transitioning to alternate treatment options.

At the time, Takeda intended to supply HEMOFIL M and RECOMBINATE to patients already receiving these medicines until inventory was depleted or expired, which they anticipated to be until mid-2026 (with exact timing to vary based on potency and demand).

Takeda recently announced that:

• they intend to supply HEMOFIL^® M to patients already receiving the medicine through September 2026;
• and they intend to supply RECOMBINATE^® to patients already receiving the medicine through September 2026, except for RECOMBINATE^® 250 IU and 2000 IU, which Takeda anticipates will be available through March 2027.

As in their initial announcement, Takeda recommends ADVATE^® [Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant)] and ADYNOVATE^® [Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant), PEGylated] as alternative treatment options.
