HYDROXYPROGESTERONE CAPROATE (Makena) is a synthetic progestin indicated for reducing the risk of preterm birth in women with a singleton pregnancy who have a history of singleton spontaneous preterm birth. It is available in an injectable oil solution (250 mg/mL) for intramuscular administration in the upper outer quadrant of the gluteus maximus.
