MMN Meta-Analysis Shows Similar Efficacy of Subcutaneous and Intravenous Immune Globulin in CIDP and MMN

According to a recent meta-analysis, “subcutaneous immune globulin could be considered as a valid alternative to intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy and multifocal motor neuropathy, particularly patients who experience frequent fluctuations or cannot tolerate IVIG despite adjustments to the frequency and doses of infusion.” [ read more ]

ACETAZOLAMIDE  
(X-Gen Pharmaceuticals)

ACETAZOLAMIDE is a potent carbonic anhydrase inhibitor for adjunctive treatment of edema due to congestive heart failure; drug-induced edema; centrencephalic epilepsies (petit mal, unlocalized seizures); chronic simple (open-angle) glaucoma, secondary glaucoma and preoperatively in acute angle-closure glaucoma where delay of surgery is desired to lower intraocular pressure. It is available for intravenous use, and is supplied as a sterile powder requiring reconstitution. Each vial contains acetazolamide sodium equivalent to 500 mg of acetazolamide.
