Bob Coates
Vice President, Technology

Bob Coates joined FFF in February 2004. He began his technology career in the Marine Corps, from which he retired in 1997 as a Lieutenant Colonel. While an active duty Marine, Bob had several key responsibilities, including the design and building of the first online system ever used in the Corps, and during the first Gulf War, he was in charge of all Marine Corps local area networks, worldwide.

After retiring from the Marine Corps, Bob was the PeopleSoft ERP Program Manager for CKE Restaurants and later, the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Edwards Theatres. While at Edwards Theatres, he and his team designed what has subsequently become that industry’s standard for theatre revenue reporting. Bob holds a BS in Biology and Math from the University of Idaho, an MS in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, and an MBA from San Diego State University. He is also a graduate of Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Army Defense Systems Management College.
